At the opposite end of the rainbow spectrum
lay dreams preserved endlessly
like strawberry jam
when there is no bread to eat it with
so dreams lay
undisturbed
preserved
day after day
night after night
and I longed for bread
basic beginnings
endings
to eat and be full
of both dreams
and man’s reality
